Since November 1998 Associate Professor (Industrial Mechanical Plants) at the Politecnico of Torino, Department of Management and Production Engineering. Since May 1992 researcher (Industrial Mechanical Plants) at the Department of Production Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Genoa. The research was focused on the analysis of production systems using discrete and stochastic models of simulation, the study of specific plant innovative economic and managerial aspects related to project management. As for the study of production systems have been analyzed in different plant parts, both in industry and in services. In the manufacturing context, and particularly so in FMS installations, the research was aimed to develop a simulator that could provide valuable support the planning phase and the management phase with the definition of heuristic scheduling rules. This approach allows for flexible management of capacity, providing better results than the classical techniques of scheduling. In order to ensure maximum performance of forecasting systems have addressed the search for integration between systems simulation and scheduling systems for analyzing the behavior of a system of supply-Chian. A further application of the simulation is related to micro-traffic simulator focused not only on vehicular flow but also on the environmental fallout of the noise. Regarding the economic management studies have been focused on the implementation of stocasticity in the planning phase of a project.
