Industrial Facilities courses
The group faces the developement of the internal transport automation in different productive fields, in particular in the automotive one.
Applications concern technological evolutions, behaviors and performance of specific material handling systems and automatic storing. Activity includes feasibility study, (layout, getting into proportion, performances buildings indicators, consumes and budget) comparison with homogeneus realities, optimal choice of the technological system and of the best solutions, economical analysis, investment valuation, numerical simulation of the solutions, technical selection of the providers as well as the start up and test assistance.
Storing Management
The research group works on issues linked to the optimal supply polity in industrial warehouses. The study encompasses ABC analysis, maximum and minimum supply levels, procurement and lead time policy through optimization models and heuristics.
Logistics networks
Competences concern logistics networks optimization, so that achieve an efficient resources exploitation using heuristic models, and their originality drifts by the specificity and the complexity of the application field. Besides we carry out studies about warehouses location choosing the placement, the supply allocation in multi-level fields, selected among the connection ways with transport systems and their best dimensions. In this field we carry out territorial logistics networks valuations to analyze the infrastructural solutions to satisfy the needs of the territory or of firms group.
The competence makes use of experiences acquired in collaboration with MIT Center for Trasportation and Logistics ( CTL) of Boston.

Performance analysis in supply chain
We carry out studies about the ties between performance indicators and design choices in the logistics chain valuating the alternatives with multi-criteria methods. We start off with static analysis of dashboards indicators and we get to dynamic and complex behaviors analysis of the factory systems linked to the measured performances. Further competences are dedicated to understand how the objectives of a logistics process can align to the "customer care" concept typical field of research of the quality. In this contest one of the most relevant points for the competences is the creation of a innovative model to measure the performances- denominated LogistiQual- that defines a valuation framework of the factory ability about the logistics performances control and the capacity to answer to the customer's needs.
